Why become a member of Civitas?

Civitas gives your business Visibility, Financial Opportunities, Referrals, Networking, Growth, Knowledge, and Advocacy with other LGBTQ+-owned businesses in the region and throughout Kentucky. By joining Civitas it provides a business owner with contacts and networking opportunities to other local LGBTQ+ businesses along with speeding up the process of integrating into the community to financially benefit your company.

Civitas provides your business a voice and access directly to local, state, and federally elected officials along with Government Directors/Leaders who share government procurement and certification opportunities.

Civitas has direct contact with corporations and partners with them to take advantage of their diversity goals and programs they offer to the community, including professional development programming and educational seminars that are complimentary with membership.

Membership Levels

When you join, you’ll select the membership level most appropriate for your business or organization. The LGBTQ+ Certified Business level includes the cost of NGLCC certification and membership. See below for more details.

Our Areas

 

Civitas is a regional chamber that serves the Greater Cincinnati area, the Greater Louisville area and Southern Indiana, and the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky. 

Area designations are outlined in the map below, but our members are encouraged to self-select the area that best aligns with their business. Members are encouraged to support events and networking meetings in all areas, as well as participate in any events virtually, when available.

Becoming a member of Civitas allows your business a pathway toward certification as an LGBT Business Enterprise (Certified LGBTE®) By the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) in Washington, D.C.

Having Certification as a Certified LGBTBE® gives your business the opportunity to compete for sourcing contracts with the NGLCC’s Corporate Supplier Diversity Partners. These corporate partners are committed to creating a diverse supply chain that is inclusive of LGBT businesses and has targeted amounts for spending with diverse business enterprises.

Becoming a member of Civitas and the NGLCC, you’ll join the ranks of all of the NGLCC membership, including:

  • Automatic inclusion in the NGLCC’s online searchable database of certified businesses, which is accessible by NGLCC Corporate Partners.

  • Use of the NGLCC Certified Business logo on your marketing materials, which identifies your business as a Certified LGBT Business Enterprise® through the NGLCC to the NGLCC’s national network.

  • Eligibility to receive sourcing opportunities e-mails from the NGLCC and its Corporate Partners.

  • Eligibility to participate in mentorship programs, leadership training, and scholarship opportunities presented by NGLCC Corporate Partners.

  • Eligibility to exhibit at the annual NGLCC Business and Leadership Conference, as well as at regional events.
